Art by John Ritter
Since a number of my readers are writers, potential writers or have expressed an interest in writing, I thought I'd share this image that I ran across today. Obviously, a page a day doesn't sound like much, but it would result in 365 pages in a year's time.
Whatever type of writing you do, whether fiction or non-fiction or business writing, or perhaps writing an email, sometimes it seems like the hardest thing is to just sit down and do it. Even when it feels like there is no desire or inspiration.
I find that when I sit down and really intend to write, something always gets expressed. It's not always great writing. Sometimes its not something I even want to share or publish. Yet, writing as a habit has its own reward. And the good stuff eventually comes.
There are many, many reasons to write. All good, valid reasons. Self-expression, curiosity, therapeutic, social or political commentary or activism, or a simple desire to share our experiences and maybe some wisdom that we have gained.
Let me encourage you to write. Write your heart out. Write what you feel or believe. Everyone has something unique to share, a story that is there's alone, yet that may have a positive impact on others. Just do it! And if you can't think of anything else to do with it, send it to me!
